Singapore layover

Here we are, coming back from Bali. However, before landing in Sydney, we had a layover of 20 hours in Singapore. We did it on purpose because, firstly it was a cheaper flight ahah and secondly we wanted to discover that city-state as some friends of us told us it was pretty crazy. Ça y est, nous sommes sur le retour de Bali, Cependant, avant d’atterrir à Sydney, nous avions un stop de 20h à Singapour. Nous avons fait exprès parce que premièrement, les vols étaient moins chers ahah et deuxièmement, parce qu’un couple d’amis nous avaient dit que cette ville était assez dingue.

The weather was super-hot, wet, 32°C but so much humidity and pollution. It was pretty hard to visit in those conditions but not annoying at all.Le temps était lourd, chaud et humide, 32°C avec beaucoup d’humidité et de pollution. C’était assez dur de visiter dans ces conditions mais pas impossible non plus.

During that layover, we had the chance to see Garden of the Bays, those trees have been built to replicate a jungle full of lights, functioning thanks to solar panels. The structure was really impressive. We could see a light show by night with music, really beautiful. Then, we saw the immensity if the skyscrapers. We attended a light and water show in from of the big mall along the marina. Pendant ce transfert, nous avons pu visiter Garden of the Bays. Ces arbres ont été construits en s’inspirant de la jungle avec pleins de lumières, fonctionnant grâce à des panneaux solaires. La structure était réellement impressionnante. Nous avons assisté au show lumineux de nuit avec de la musique, magnifique. Ensuite, nous avons découvert l’immensité des tours et avons également assisté à un spectacle de lumière et d’eau en face d’un grand centre commercial au bord de l’eau.

This city was out of reality, the buildings, the gardens, the hugeness and the original hotels. Cette ville est hors du temps avec ses tours, ses jardins, son immensité et ses hôtels originaux.

We chose an original hotel, Cube. The concept of this hotel is about your room which is a pod. We tried that king of hotel in Tasmania, you remember? However, the style of this one has a completely different style and we had a room for two. Moreover, the food was super good as well and our hotel was located in the famous Chinatown were the food was at its best in this area. We found a small local restaurant and the food was cheap and so good. Noodles, pork, fried rice, fresh beer and pretty juice. We did not need something else to be happy… Nous avons choisi un hôtel original, Cube. Le concept réside dans les chambres. Ce sont des capsules. Nous avions déjà testé ce genre d’hôtel en Tasmanie, vous vous souvenez? Cependant, le design et le style de celui-ci étaient complètement différents. De plus, la nourriture était encore une fois trop bonne et notre hôtel était situé dans le quartier chinois où la nourriture est à son maximum dans ce quartier. Nous avons trouvé une petite cantine locale où la nourriture n’était pas chère et super bonne. Nouilles, porc, riz sauté, bière fraiche et joli jus. Nous n’avions rien besoin de plus pour être heureux…

Now, it is time to go back to Sydney for a few days, to sell the car, see some friends before leaving for Asia again and visit the 5 next countries. You can’t wait to see that? Us as well ahah.
