Da Lat and having fun with canyoning

Hello, how are you? Did you sleep well? Yes? Lucky you! We had a crazy driver during our sleeping bus from Hoi An to Nha Trang so the night had been pretty bad. Therefore, we arrived around 5 pm at Nha Trang where we had to wait 3 more hours to take another 4 hours bus to Da Lat. Coucou, comment allez-vous? Avez-vous bien dormi ? Oui ? Bandes de chanceux! Notre conducteur de notre bus de nuit de Hoi An à Nha Trang était fou du coup notre nuit a plutôt été mauvaise. Du coup, nous sommes arrivés vers 5h du mat à Nha Trang où nous devions attendre 3 heures de plus pour prendre un autre bus pour Da Lat.

I enjoyed a quick super early walk along the beach while waiting the second bus. I felt great breathing fresh morning air. Vietnamese people were already doing their sports, dance and morning activities. It was fun to watch. J’ai profité d’une petite marche rapide le long de la plage en attendant le deuxième bus. Ça faisait du bien de respirer l’air frais du matin. Les vietnamiens étaient déjà à danser, à faire leur sport et activités matinales. C’était marrant à regarder.

After the second bus, we finally arrived at Da Lat, called the Valley of Love from domestic people. I have really no idea why because this city is not really romantic. The city is located inland in the mountains. Here, no rice fields, they have been replaced by vegetables and fruits such as strawberries. Après le second bus, nous sommes enfin arrives à Da Lat, surnommée la vallée de l’amour par les locaux. Je n’ai aucune idée pourquoi car la ville n’est pas vraiment romantique. Cette ville est nichée dans les montagnes. Ici, pas de champs de riz, ils ont été remplacés par les légumes et fruits comme les fraises.

Our hotel recommended us a restaurant where we rushed ourselves as we were starving. The concept of the restaurant was fun as we ordered a type of meal and then an extra hot plate was coming still cooking our food inside. It was cheap, modern and delicious. Notre hôtel nous a recommandé un restaurant où nous nous sommes rués comme nous étions affamés. Le concept de ce restaurant était assez drôle car nous avons commandé un type de plat et ensuite un plat super chaud nous était servi où notre nourriture continuait de cuire. C’était pas cher, moderne et délicieux.

Then, we decided to go booking our canyoning tour for the day after. I will tell you everything about it in few sentences, no worries. However, before this, we visited the city walking around the lake. This lake made us think about the lake in Sapa, same, at the top of the mountain. Then, we went to the old train station to see the old trailers leaving. There were so many Asian people taking pictures as if they were stars or celebrities, this was hilarious to watch. New city, new specialty, we tried a noodles and wonton soup. In the restaurant, there was no English-speaking so when we arrived, the manager looked at us and told us Vietnamese word showing a meal, we looked at each other with Antoine, smiling and said together: ‘Yes!’ Let’s wait for the surprise. Ahah This soup was amazingly delicious, the dumplings were tasty and the soup as well. Local food was the best. Ensuite, nous sommes allés réserver notre tour de canyoning pour le jour suivant. Je vous dirai tout ça dans quelques phrases, pas d’inquiétudes. Cependant, avant cela, nous avons visité la ville en marchant autour du lac. Ce lac nous a fait penser à celui de Sapa, pareil, en haut d’une montagne. Puis, nous sommes allés à l’ancienne station de train pour voir d’anciens wagons partir. Il y avait tellement d’asiatiques prenant des photos comme s’ils étaient des stars ou des célébrités, c’était hilarant à regarder. Nouvelle ville, nouvelle spécialité, nous avons essayé une soupe de nouilles et de wonton. Dans le restaurant, personne ne parlait anglais donc quand nous sommes arrivés, le manager nous a regardé et nous a dit quelque chose en vietnamien en nous montrant un plat. On s’est regardés avec Antoine et en rigolant ensemble nous avons dit : « Oui » ! C’est partit pour la surprise. Ahah Cette soupe était tellement délicieuse, les dumplings avaient du goût et la soupe aussi. La nourriture locale est la meilleure.

Canyoning

This is the D-day for canyoning! We booked a full tour (why not? Ahah) with Phra tyres adventures thanks to the recommendations of Lonely planet. For the tour, we had two local guides and we were with other girls from Slovenia. Only the 4 of us, perfect! The canyoning was occurring at the Dalanta waterfalls. The weather was perfect and the water enough fresh to make us thrill sometimes ahah. C’est le Jour J pour le canyoning! Nous avons réservé un tour entier (pourquoi pas ? ahah) avec Phra Tyres Adventures sous les recommandations du Lonely Planet. Pour le tour, nous avions 2 guides locaux et nous étions avec deux filles de Slovénie. Seulement nous 4, parfait ! Le canyoning se passait dans les chutes de Dalanta. Le temps était parfait et l’eau assez fraiche pour nous faire frissonner de temps en temps. ahah

The tour was well done. First, we practiced on the mainland. After feeling comfortable, we started the adventure with abseiling, zip lining, walking in the water, hiking, jumping. We had a lot of fun and the two girls with us were super nice. We had a wonderful moment. Le tour était bien fait. Premièrement, nous nous sommes entrainés sur la terre ferme. Lorsque nous nous sentions confortables, nous avons pu commencer l’aventure en faisant du rappel, de la tyrolienne, en marchant dans l’eau en randonnant, en sautant… Nous nous sommes vraiment bien marrés et les deux filles avec nous étaient super sympas. Nous avons passé un super moment.

At the end, we even had a local picnic in the forest with pork paté, bread, tofu, vegetables, the laughing cow (yes yes) and fresh fruits. Delicious! This canyoning tour was perfect and we kept in touch with the two nice Slovenian. A la fin, nous avons même eu un pique-nique dans la forêt avec du paté de porc, du pain, du tofu, des légumes, de la vache kiri (oui oui) et des fruits frais. Délicieux. Cette sortie canyoning était parfaite et nous sommes restés en contact avec les deux Slovènes.

We rested a bit at the hotel before going out at the end of the afternoon to go to a crazy bar called 100 roofs. Indeed, this one was even crazier than what we thought. It was a labyrinth with so many weird rooms, inside, outside and a beautiful view of the city from the top. Moreover, the cookie vanilla milk was unbelievable as well ahah. We had a more than perfect day and time in Da Lat. We did not see a lot of western tourists as they prefer staying along the Vietnamese coast. Lucky us ahah. However, we also are going to enjoy the coastal side of Vietnam tomorrow, in Mui Ne. See you there. I&A Nous nous sommes reposes un peu notre hotel avant de sortir en fin d’après-midi pour aller dans un bar fou appelé 100 toits. En effet, cet hôtel était bien plus fou que nous le pensions. C’était un labyrinthe avec tellement de salles bizarres à l’intérieur et l’extérieur et une super de vue de la ville depuis le toit. De plus, leur lait cookie vanille était à tomber ahah Nous avons eu une journée et un moment plus que parfaits à Da Lat. Nous n’avons pas vu beaucoup de touristes comme ils préfèrent rester sur les côtes vietnamiennes en bord de plage. Chanceux ahah Cependant, nous serons également bientôt sur ces côtes vietnamiennes demain, à Mui Ne. On s’y voit là-bas. I&A
