Koh Tao, one of our best dives

5 pm Koh Samui 6:30 pm Koh Tao 6:45 meeting the French Kiss Divers instructors for our dive the following morning. The planning was tight but we made it!! After dropping off our bag to our Triple B bungalow, we were starving and the instructor from the dive center advised us a local restaurant. Let’s follow his advice, and you know what, it was very… tasty! 17h à Koh Samui, 18h30 à Koh Tao, 18h45 rendez-vous avec les instructeurs de French Kiss Divers pour notre plongée le lendemain matin. Le planning était serré mais on l’a fait !! Après avoir déposé nos bagages à notre bungalow Triple B, nous étions affamés et nous avons suivi le conseil de notre instructeur, un restaurant local. Vous savez quoi ? C’était… bien goûtu !

Our accomodation was also a small bungalow but not as comfy as the one in Koh Phan Gan. However, for 6€ for two people by night, we cannot expect more ahah but it was far enough. Notre logement était aussi un bungalow mais il était quand même moins confortable que celui à Koh Phan Gan. Cependant, pour 6€ par nuit pour 2 personnes, on n’allait pas faire la fine bouche ahah et c’était bien suffisant.

We dived with French Kiss Divers before. Do you remember? It was in Malapascua in the Philippines. We had such good dives there so we did not hesitate a second when we heard about their shop in Koh Tao! We chose to dive at Sail Rock, apparently the best spot to dive in Koh Tao and I confirm! The departure time was 5:30 pm, we had two hours of boat to reach sail rock, the diving spot. We were only Antoine and I with our fantastic instructor Aurore. After a breakfast on the boat, we had two dives and it was amazing, we had 25 meters of visibility and we so many fishes, corals… The clarity of the water was unbelievable! Antoine had some difficulties to equalize his ears the first dive but after he also enjoyed as much as I enjoyed. This underwater feeling of diving is insane, I cannot describe how I love it so much. They are part of my best memories of these travels. We had lunch on the boat and we were back to Koh Tao around noon. The French Kiss team was awesome as in Malapascua! Nous avions plongé avec French Kiss Divers auparavant. Vous vous souvenez? C’était à Malapascua aux Philippines. On avait adore nos plongées avec eux alors on n’a pas hésité une seule seconde quand on a entendu parler de leur centre de plongée à Koh Tao. Nous avons choisi de plonger à Sail Rock, apparemment, le meilleur spot de plongée à Koh Tao et je confirme ! Le départ était à 5h30 du matin, nous avions 2 heures de bateau pour rejoindre le spot. Nous étions seulement Antoine et moi avec notre fantastique instructrice Aurore. Après un petit-déjeuner sur le bateau, nous avions deux plongées et elles étaient superbes. Nous avions une visibilité à 25 et avons vu tellement de poissons de coraux… La clarté de l’eau était incroyable ! Antoine a eu quelques difficultés à égaliser ses oreilles sur la descente de la première plongée mais après il a pu en profiter tout autant que moi. Cette sensation sous l’eau est terrible, je n’ai pas les mots pour décrire à quel point j’adore. Ces plongées font parties de mes meilleurs souvenirs de ces voyages. Nous avons enfin déjeuné sur le bateau et étions de retour à Koh Tao vers midi. L’équipe de French Kiss était super tout comme à Malapascua.

We still had the whole afternoon to chill on the beach on the Eastern side of the island. We did some snorkeling (but not free dive as it is not recommended after diving) especially near Shark bay where we could have the chance to see the White tail reef sharks. Unfortunately, I did not see some but still enjoyed sun bathing on the beach. We ate a local food market and joined the girls we met on the boat to have a chill drink in a bar in front of the ocean. Really cool moment with those working and travelling girls!! Good deal ! Nous avions toute l’après-midi pour profiter des plages sur la partie Est de l’ile. Nous avons fait du snorkeling (pas de plongée en apnée car c’est déconseillé après une plongée en bouteille) vers la baie des requins où nous pouvions voir des requins de récif à pointe blanche. Malheureusement, je n’en ai pas vu mais j’ai quand même bien profité en bronzant sur la plage. Nous sommes allés diner dans un marché local et puis on a rejoint les filles rencontrées sur le bateau pour aller prendre un verre à un bar de plage. Super moment avec ces filles qui travaillent et voyagent en même temps !! Tellement le bon plan !

The following day, we visited the northern and western part of the island where we could do snorkeling again. On a random beach we had the chance to see the sharks, finally!! Impressive even if they were pretty small compared to the one we saw in the cave in Malapascua in the Philippines ^^. This morning was really good with 3 beaches discovery. We had a well-deserved lunch at the Pier where we had to take the last boat to come back to Koh Samui where we had our flight back to Bangkok. However, I think this post is long enough, I will tell you the end of our Thailand trip in the next post. Be patient!! See ya I&A Le jour suivant, nous avons visité la partie nord et est de l’île où nous pouvions encore faire du snorkeling. Sur une plage au hasard, nous avons enfin eu la chance de voir ces requins !! Impressionnants même s’ils étaient plus petits que celui que nous avions vu dans la cave à Malapascua aux Philippines ^^ Cette matinée étaient super cool, nous avons vu 3 plages différentes. Nous avons pris un déjeuner bien mérité au port où nous reprenions un bateau de retour à Ko Samui car nous avions notre vol pour Bangkok.
